Blue Ridge Mountains — North Carolina and Tennessee
Guide Ollie Smith has been putting anglers on trout for over thirty years and his knowledge of the High Country is second to none. Based in Boone, NC — under the shadows of Grandfather Mountain, Ollie will be certain to make your trip memorable and filled with fish. Whether you want to chase beautiful wild trout in the headwaters or go after larger quarry in the lower sections, Ollie will show you places that most anglers would not think to fish.
A short jump over the Blue Ridge, Ollie conducts both float and wade trips on the famed South Holston and Watauga tailwaters. These two fisheries are home to some of the most selective brown trout in the States. If anglers are lucky enough to fish the world famous South Holston sulphur hatch, they will be rewarded with perhaps their most epic day on the water. The tailwaters are truly an experience at virtually any time of the year since the consistent water temperatures produce a variety of hatches that keep fish active and feeding.
